Terms and Conditions
Effective 11 July 2026
1. Agreement
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of HOSTit, the document hosting service available at host-it.pro and app.host-it.pro (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation, and "you" refers to it.
2. The Service
HOSTit lets you upload documents, publish them at public URLs, manage versions, share and restrict access, and automate these actions via an API. We may improve, add, or remove features at any time. We will give reasonable notice of changes that materially reduce core functionality of a paid plan.
3. Accounts
You must provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account and workspace, including actions performed with your API tokens. Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use.
4. Your content
You retain all rights to the files you upload ("Content"). You grant us a limited, worldwide licence to host, store, reproduce, and transmit your Content solely to operate the Service — including serving it at the public URLs you create and to viewers you authorise.
You are solely responsible for your Content and for having the rights to publish it. Publishing a document at a public URL makes it accessible to anyone with that URL unless you apply access controls.
5. Acceptable use
You must not use the Service to host or distribute: content that is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, or deceptive; malware or malicious code; material that exploits or harms minors; content that violates the privacy or intellectual-property rights of others; or spam infrastructure. You must not attempt to breach, probe, or overload the Service, resell it without our written consent, or misrepresent the origin of hosted material.
We may remove Content or suspend accounts that we reasonably believe violate this section, with notice where practicable.
6. Plans, billing, and cancellation
Free plans are subject to the published limits (documents and storage). Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly basis via our payment processor (Stripe) and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from Settings → Billing; access to paid features continues until the end of the paid period. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable.
We may change prices with at least 30 days’ notice; changes apply from your next billing cycle.
7. Availability and support
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without uptime guarantees. We operate on globally distributed infrastructure and aim for high availability, but interruptions, maintenance windows, and third-party outages can occur. Support is provided on a reasonable-efforts basis.
8. Data and privacy
We store account data, document metadata, and analytics events (including viewer information for email-gated documents) to operate the Service. Files are stored on Cloudflare infrastructure. We do not sell your personal information. Deleting a document removes its metadata and public URLs; residual copies in backups and storage are purged in the ordinary course.
9. Termination
You may delete your workspace at any time from Settings, which permanently removes its documents, URLs, members, and tokens. We may suspend or terminate accounts for material breach of these Terms, non-payment, or extended inactivity on free plans (with notice). Upon termination your public URLs stop resolving.
10. Disclaimers and liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law: the Service is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied; we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill; and our aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amounts you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim (or AUD $100 if you have paid nothing).
Nothing in these Terms excludes rights that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law, including the Australian Consumer Law.
11. Indemnity
You will indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your Content, your use of the Service in breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced by email or in-product notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
